This lesson will teach you how to use the Advanced Search window in MediaNotes. Advanced Search allows you to:
1. View events for multiple video/audio files in the same session file
2. View each tag used in a session file and the groups that the tags are assigned to
3. Search and filter events and tags
Select the Advanced Search button to see the Advanced Search parameters.
Items in Advanced Search can be grouped by Events or Tags. In this screen we have grouped items by Events.
The media filter allows you select whether you want to see events for all media items for just a for a specific one.
The comment filter lets you filter events based on comments. You can choose to see events commented on by a specific author, events with comments or events without comments.
In this example I have selected to view all events without comments. This can be useful if I want to make sure that I have added comments to every event.
Events can be sorted alphabetically or chronologically. Select the desired option from the dropdown.
Check the flag box to only see events that have been flagged.
Enter text in the search box to quickly search for information. Tag titles, event titles and comments will be searched.
You can clear the search field by clicking on the "x" icon to the right.
This screen shows an example of events grouped by tags. Each tag is displayed in alphabetical order with the number of events that are associated with that tag.
This is an example of the Review list with Details checked. When Details is checked full comments will be displayed as well as the start/end times and duration.
