Example Media can be attached to tags. Let us explain how this works.
The actual media files are not attached to the tag set as this would quickly create very large files if you included a lot of example media. What is attached is a url for that media file. By clicking on the Example Media icon (shown in this picture) the user will be able to see if the media if they have an internet connection.
The important things to understand are:
1. You must store your media files in a publicly available folder on a website if you want people to be able to see your example media.
2. People who are using your Tag Set file must have an internet connection to see the example media.
NOTE: You can create a folder on your local machine to audition example media as you are assembling tag sets. This lesson will show you how to do this.
The first thing you need to do is create two folders:
1. Create a folder on your local machine (or a network drive) where you plan to store your example media.
2. Create a folder on a public website where you will upload your example media files.
From the Tag Manager select the Example Media icon.
Or you can select Example Media from the Tools menu.
Select Configure from the Example Media screen.
Select Browse (1) and choose the folder on your local machine where you have your example media.
Type in the url of your web folder in the Network field (2).
Here you can see both of the fields filled in.
Once you are done, select OK.
Make sure that your audition preference is set to Local (1). Then, click on the Add Example Media button (2).
A file window will appear which will allow you to select the example media you want to add.
NOTE: The media file needs to be in the folder that you setup previously.
In this example I have selected a file called "Preliminary Example.mov" You can see that it has been added to the palette.
Select the play/pause icon to preview the video.
Drag the example media from the palette to the Example Media field.
Once you have added all of your example media do the following:
1. Upload all of the media files to your website (in the folder you specified earlier).
2. Change the audition preference to Network. You will now be able to audition the media and make sure that everything is in the correct location.
