This lesson will teach you how to use the Tag Palette. The Tag Palette is where you can see all of the tags that are in your session file. From here you can:
1. Create tags
2. Add tags to events
3. Edit tags (name, description and color)
4. See the number of times a tag is used
5. Create, delete and select Tag Sets
6. Import and export Tag Sets
Open the Tag Palette by selecting the Tag Palette icon or selecting Tags > Tag Palette from the main menu.
The Tag Palette has the following items:
1. Create/Delete Tags
2. Create/Delete Tag Sets
3. Import/Export Tag Sets
4. Tag Set selector
5. Tags in current Tag Set
6. Print button
7. Show Details checkbox (this determines whether or not tag descriptions will be shown in the Tag Palette).
There are several bits of important information in the tag display:
1. Shortcut key: Pressing this function key will add the tag to the selected event. Pressing ctrl-function key (cmd function key on Mac) will create a new event with the associated tag.
2. Tag title
3. The number in parenthesis represents the number of events the tag is associated with.
4. If a tag contains a description it will appear here (only if Show Details is checked).
Press the function key or drag the tag from the Tag Palette to the seelcted event.
To create a new tag, select Add a Tag.
Enter the tag title and select OK.
The tag will be created. To add a description, double-click on the description area.
Enter the description and select OK.
The description will now be displayed.
Each tag can have a unique color. To change the color, right click on a tag and select Edit Color.
Select the desired color from the color picker that will appear.
In this example we have changed the color for two tags. Notice that the colors have updated in the main windows as well.
